Dear friends and readers –
I have been meaning to write a little update for quite a while letting you all know my intent regarding the future of this blog and have been somewhat fearful to write this but the timing has (sort of) forced my hands. Let me just get right to it.
When I started this Poor, little, rich, white, Mexican blog, I really only intended to run it for one year. Obviously I have been influenced by the movie Julie and Julia. Writing once a week, I would only need to come up with 52 posts. As the months have progressed, I have found it fairly difficult to find material every week. Today is the 44th post and I am so grateful that you all “tune-in” each week, reading, commenting and so on.
Many of you know that I was asked to speak at our church’s annual ladies luncheon, well, actually, the PLRWM was asked to speak. It was a fruitful, albeit nerve-racking, experience. If you would like to hear it (and have 35 minutes of free time to do so) I have heard that they will be posting it on the church’s website. www.greenhillsonline.org My guess is that it will be under the tab entitled “messages”. (Please forgive the moment of tears. DRAT! I hate crying publically!) 🙂 It has not posted yet but when it does, I’ll let you know.
I do not know what the Lord has in store for me, particularly as it relates to this blog but I am open to His direction …even if it racks my nerves. 😉 That being said, I have decided, that in order to obey what may be the Lord’s leading, I feel as though I am being called to continue with the PLRWM blog. HOWEVER! ~ after I reach my own personal goal of one straight year of blogging, I will likely slow down to something more manageable like once or twice a month. I also do not know if I can keep up with the original intent of the blog (focusing on my confused identity) but for now, I will keep my efforts focused as best as possible.
So there you have it. You didn’t know I was going to stop but know you know I plan to stick around a while longer. Thank you all so much for sharing your stories with me. It really has been a great gift.
